Nathan Gamble Projects
Runaway (series regular)
I played Tommy Rader, the youngest son in a family where the father had been wrongly accused of a crime. The series only lasted a season, but it was fun to have a job every day and I enjoyed living in Toronto, Ontario where the show was filmed. It was a blast living in a big city, right downtown.
Being on a regular show is the best - no constant auditioning! I was disappointed when it was cancelled. I miss everyone involved. Plus everyone who watched never got to know the ending to the mystery, which really stinks.
The cast and crew on this show were great. Especially Donnie Wahlberg, who was so fun to hang out with - just a big kid. He always tried to make us all laugh. Every time I would hear someone swear on the set I charged them money, and needless to say, I made a lot of money off of Donnie Walhberg!
Captain Cook's Extraordinarily Atlas (pilot)
I loved shooting this! My favorite scenes are the ones where I am being chased by monsters. This was really the funnest thing I have ever been in. I sure hope it gets picked up.
I play Poe, the little brother of the lead character (played by a 14 year-old Canadian girl named Jodelle Ferland). I loved the cast. Patrick Breen was so nice. He played my Dad. We tossed the baseball around a lot between takes and talked about TV and movies. He was in one of my favorite movies, "Galaxy Quest," so it was awesome to hang out with him. Tommy Schlamme, the director, was very nice, too. He reminded me of Frank Darabont from "The Mist" - he really loves what he does, just like Frank. Tom Wheeler, the writer, was also a very great guy. Very willing to talk to me and also very happy and excited about the show. I love being around positive people who love what they do for a living.
In this show, my sister finds a magic atlas that leads her to an alternate world beneath Earth, but if I could go anywhere in the world, it would be HOME. There is no place like home.
House
This TV show runs like a well-oiled machine. In this episode, I play the brother of the sick patient. All of my scenes were with Omar Epps, although I did get to talk with Hugh Laurie in the make up room. Hugh, as you know, is British, so it is very weird to hear him talk with his English accent. He drove up on his big motorcycle to the set - I'd like to do that some day! (sorry, Mom!)
Ghost Whisperer
I played a gifted boy named Elliot in a 2008 episode called "Deadbeat Dads." It was a really easy role, because I did not have to cry. ? A lot of my scenes were with Jay Mohr (who plays Professor Payne) because my character was possibly his son. Jay is a very funny guy. He was always cracking jokes. One day he told me that I was almost cute enough to really be his son!
I definitely believe in ghosts. It was been known that strange things happen on this set and this episode was no different. In a scene I was in, the record player kept turning itself on. It freaked Jennifer Love Hewitt out a little!
Without a Trace
I play a kidnapped kid in this episode that crossed over with "CSI." The set was very fast-paced and professional, like TV tends to be, so you have to be focused and pay attention. I loved that this show films on a studio lot. It's cool being where so many famous movies and TV shows were filmed. And I love filming in California, because you are never very far away from a great amusement park or the beach!
The cast were very business like. Everyone seemed to know their jobs. They work fast and are very no-nonsense. It's hard to bond with the cast when you are just a person on one episode, but it was another great learning experience. It was fascinating to watch because it was so different from a movie. I also enjoyed having my Grandma Carol on the set for this job.
CSI
This was the cross over episode with "Without a Trace." I had two short scenes at the end, and I spent a day watching a man get shot over and over again. (It was in the script.)
I had never been to Vegas and it was a really cool place. I would love to go back.
